Star Wars 30th Anniversary

Welcome to Cinematic Toys. For a quick explanation what this blog is all about please have a look at my About page. To kick things off I am posting one of my very first cinematic toy shots of all time favorite villain Dart Vader. This photo also appeared in a Wired.com Star Wars 30th Anniversary special about fan created art work.

Amongst the many movies that inspire me the original Star Wars trilogy of course has its enduring place amongst them. Less for the action and more for the emotional currents underneath. I think there are many sons out there who wished at one point or another in their life that they could turn their fathers away from certain evil or at least gain their respect and acknowledgment. So here is not only to 30 years of ingenious science fantasy but also to those that relate to the “dark father” figure. And of course to all those young at heart still collecting toys (which we so maturely refer to as “action figures” and “collectibles”) and all the wives who so lovingly put up with this “hobby” (which makes us adore them all the more).
