A lonely scene

25 Jun

A lonely scene, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker.

And she walked in solitude
Through the garden of silence
On the day of the midnight sun
Walked
On another path to nowhere
Passing the guardians of now
And the remnants of the past
As always
The sands of time kept rushing
Drifting beneath her feet
Making it difficult to move forward
Until
The winds of change took mercy on her
Lifting her up as she spread her arms
Carrying her to a place far away
A place
Where the sun finally set at night
And rose again in the morning
Where life blossomed
In the garden of beautiful noises

Golden treasures hang
From lustrous silver branches

The things most precious

The things most precious, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker.

The things most precious
Are not the ones that shine and shimmer
Like transient gold and silver pleasures
But those that glow and glimmer
Filling hearts, not pockets, with indelible treasures

B&W London – St Pancras Old Church

11 Jun

As the saying goes “a picture is worth a thousand words” (for some interesting details about this phrase see here) and in light of what I just wrote about the poetry of the moment I decided to occasionally post pictures (mostly black and white) without accompanying poems as they stand as poetry on their own merits. I’ll begin with a small series of black and white London pictures, first one being of the St Pancras Old Church (some further details here). I hope you enjoy it.
