Thank you Emily. I've been a great admirer of Japanese culture for years, really enjoy their aesthetic and take on life. Haikus to me embody the essence of it all, seeing something, experiencing a moment or feeling, mostly in direct connection with nature and the seasons, and then expressing it with precisely the right and absolute necessary words. I recently purchased several vintage haiku books (English translations) and am trying to learn and practice.

Lovely shot and thoughts. It took me awhile, but I finally figured out that the last few entries are all haiku — also brings me back to high school and struggling with writing them. All good things...

Thank you Juliette. I do like the smell of wet concrete or brick sidewalks as well, especially after a hot summer day when everything is cooled down and drenched by a swift thunderstorm; there is this kind of sparkle in the air, especially in the city.

Thank you too yael, very much appreciate it.

ooh. like this one. very nice.

makes me think of the smell of wet concrete and how it lingers too. but mainly makes me think of summers in the Adirondacks - which is far better. thanks for a moment of pleasant thoughts!
