I've been a great admirer of Japanese culture for years, really enjoy their aesthetic and take on life. Haikus to me embody the essence of it all, seeing something, experiencing a moment or feeling, mostly in direct connection with nature and the seasons, and then expressing it with precisely the right and absolute necessary words. I recently purchased several vintage haiku books (English translations) and am trying to learn and practice. Thank you Emily.
