ooh. like this one. very nice.

makes me think of the smell of wet concrete and how it lingers too. but mainly makes me think of summers in the Adirondacks – which is far better. thanks for a moment of pleasant thoughts!

Thank you Juliette. I do like the smell of wet concrete or brick sidewalks as well, especially after a hot summer day when everything is cooled down and drenched by a swift thunderstorm; there is this kind of sparkle in the air, especially in the city.

Thank you too yael, very much appreciate it.

Lovely shot and thoughts. It took me awhile, but I finally figured out that the last few entries are all haiku — also brings me back to high school and struggling with writing them. All good things…

Thank you Emily. I’ve been a great admirer of Japanese culture for years, really enjoy their aesthetic and take on life. Haikus to me embody the essence of it all, seeing something, experiencing a moment or feeling, mostly in direct connection with nature and the seasons, and then expressing it with precisely the right and absolute necessary words. I recently purchased several vintage haiku books (English translations) and am trying to learn and practice.
