Little things get easily lost, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker.
Little things
Get easily lost
Easily broken
Easily disregarded
Discarded
Thrown by the wayside
To the curbside
Childhood memories
Of little toy planes
Held between two fingers
Chasing the clouds away
Of little plastic animals
Conversing in a garden of childhood bliss
And later than
A lover’s trinket
Cherished once like a diamond rare
Do we still care?
If everything fell to ruin today
What would you like to spare?
Little things
Easily overlooked
In these hectic times
Where our schedules are overbooked
Hold on to them
They are your memories
Footnotes rife
With moments past
Lessons learned
Bookmarks of your life
Protect them
Like treasures golden
More valuable then riches
Which cannot buy back precious moments
Display them proudly
Shine a light on them
So that when the night is the darkest
When everything else has faded
When all those memories seem so far
They’ll guiding you back
To who you are

wow… i have to say this is reminding me to slow down. makes me think of my childhood – before the internet, when there was more time to just enjoy the moments of life. my parents were much less “busy” than i am…

Very stylish!
So much heart. To say it is beautiful is to state the obvious. I truly admire men who can say it like they feel it. Thats so rare.
Vineeta´s last blog ..A few birds and vignettes from home
Thank you Vineeta. I think it’s generally harder for men to express how they feel due to upbringing and various conventions. The display of emotions is considered a feminine trait and a sign of vulnerability, something that can potentially be exploited. Looking at it this way it is actually a sign of insecurity if a man has difficulty expressing his feelings, out of fear of being misjudged or misunderstood, as the fact remains that all human beings have emotions regardless of gender. Admittedly men don’t feel on the same level as women as we significantly rationalize our choices but nevertheless “allowing” ourselves to feel a certain way actually contributes to making good decisions hence feeling more sure and confident. At least that’s how I see it.
Words of beauty,words of wisdom.
Your comment to Vineeta really resonated with me, I wish my husband could “feel” more.
Thanks so much for sharing,
Shay
