Woodland creatures features – Part 3

Still at a distance, over there, close to age old oak trees thick and tall, watching, observing my every move, uncertain of my intentions, am I here to converse or to enthrall? I move closer, assuredly, calmly, respectfully. One of them, but not of their kind, I keep this in mind. Wild heart, rushing blood, all senses engaged, an emotional flood. The wind whispers through the trees, acorns fall into autumn grass, I feel an eternity pass. Tail moves, muscles twitch, eyes fixated, a sudden pitch. A nod, I stop. Fallen tree, next to me, here I will sit, I agree. I take my place, I watch and wait until with deliberate stride prince deer draws near, with every step I can feel his weight.

  • I remember this day so clearly and the patience you showed in photographing this gorgeous buck (and his friends). Wasn’t that magical to see them all around us roaming freely and at peace? I really enjoyed this and think that we should go again soon for inspiration and fresh air. :)
