Upon forest floor

Upon forest floor, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker.

Here is where I see, here is where I am, here is where I feel the closest to earthen realm. Here is where my roots reach deep, where no concrete pummels my feet. Here is where I can be all I can be, free from asphalt and gasoline, from mechanical noise and artificial toys. Here is where my heart beats calmly in the forest breeze so balmy. This is where my soul belongs, this is where I listen to those songs, music of the leaves and swaying branches, far away from urban trenches. And as I walk with careful step I look below and see worlds that hidden from our eyes here grow. Thus

On my knees I sit
Watching tiny wonderlands
Upon forest floor

  • Oh how did I miss this? It’s lovely. I really like what you’ve said here and how you captured this moment in time. I remember the day you were on bended knee photographing this mushroom colony behind that bench in the forest. And how fascinated, we both were, by the almost condo like mushroom resort before our eyes. I think we both had little stories going through our imaginations as we looked upon this magical little place, all but a few inches high… But to the ants, these are quite amazing to behold…

I love what you’ve said here, I will bookmark this one for sure.
