Behind the water

Behind the water, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker.

There is a subtleness
In that rigidness
That frigidness
Of the cold air
A noble flair
An eternity
Frozen
A moment
Suspended

My fingers can't quite touch it
My eyes not quite see it
My mind not quite grasp it

Here I am
Resting
Testing
The waters
Reaching
Beseeching
“What could it be?
Please answer me!”
Stretching
Not quite catching
Just a glimpse
Towards a face
In this place
On that fountain

A tremble
I shook
I look
At eyes
Half shut
In Despair?
Melancholic stare
Who can declare
What visions to bare
Right there
Behind the water

Floating
Streaming down the face
Such grace
In that place
Set in stone
That rushing tone
As if there's something to bemoan
Resonating
Reverberating

It's haunting
Slightly daunting
Wonderfully mesmerizing
Yet still disguising
Anguish?
Languish?
“Oh speak to me
For I do not see
Are you desperately alone?
Surely it should be known
What it is you have forsaken
Or is it something that was taken?”
Away
It could not stay
Time will betray
I know
But if I may?
Just touch this one tear
Right here

So it will be
That hope is never forgotten
Never downtrodden
For stone bears
What bone dares
When flesh has ceased
But not appeased
For it has pleased
The one creating
That such feelings are emanating
From that face
In this place
Behind the water
