This is the way, walk in it”

For there is always one light shining everlastingly
One voice that soothes and calms the storm
One tender caring love to carry us through
One deep concern longing to see us happy
One shadow on a hot day to provide relief
One gentle rain to satisfy the thirsting land
One mighty tree under which all find comfort
There is but one hope that we may listen to the voice
Which calls through all the noise
Indiscernible at times
Until we stop thinking about ourselves
And we listen with all our heart's intent
We turn around and we look and we see
A hand stretched out, someone calling
“This is the way, walk in it”

I felt inspired to write this poem after listening to some tracks on Sinéad O'Connor's last album 'Theology'. I have the same intent as she when she states “I simply wanted to make a beautiful thing, out of something beautiful, which inspires me."

  • I love this post, I’m sitting here trying so hard to recall where you took this photo — it’s driving me crazy because usually I know the moment I see a photo you’ve taken. Is this the hill in the forest where you went sledding as child? Or elsewhere?

Lovely poem by the way, I love the part where you said, “Which calls through all the noise, Indiscernible at times
Until we stop thinking about ourselves, And we listen with all our heart’s intent.”

So true. I think as a species we can be so very self absorbed and totally miss some of the most obvious doors and paths due to our blindness.
