Home of my heart

Home of my heart, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker.

My eyes have seen the colors of the world,
My ears heard its beautiful sounds,
My nose smelled its sweet aromas,
My mouth savored its delicious tastes,
My fingers touched its intricate textures,
But my heart never left home.

17 But the wisdom from above is first of all chaste, then peaceable, reasonable, ready to obey, full of mercy and good fruits, not making partial distinctions, not hypocritical. 18 Moreover, the fruit of righteousness has its seed sown under peaceful conditions for those who are making peace.

From what source are there wars and from what source are there fights among YOU? Are they not from this source, namely, from YOUR cravings for sensual pleasure that carry on a conflict in YOUR members? 2 YOU desire, and yet YOU do not have. YOU go on murdering and coveting, and yet YOU are not able to obtain. YOU go on fighting and waging war. YOU do not have because of YOUR not asking. 3 YOU do ask, and yet YOU do not receive, because YOU are asking for a wrong purpose, that YOU may expend [it] upon YOUR cravings for sensual pleasure. (James 3:17-4:3)

Be it personal fights or grand scale wars one need to look no further for the reasons than the desire of one or few over the desires and for the things of others. Wealth, fame, goods and resources are constant reason for strife. He who desires that which he does not posses will incite. He who is content and reasonable will find and make peace. Looking at the image of this duck I find content in its expression.

“A curious visitor dropped in today, that is crashed through the roof and landed right on our bed (accompanied by a loud “thud” and “oomph”). While staring at him with a quizzical expression he started talking in a rather peculiar language. The words sounded like “˙ǝɔɐǝd uı ǝɯoɔ ı ˙ƃoq ʇǝuɐld ɯoɹɟ ƃouƃoɯ ɯɐ ı ‘ıɥ”. It took us a minute to figure out he’d landed on his head which incidentally made him talk upside down.”
