Otherworldly

Foreign worlds, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker.

Merriam-Webster defines otherwordly as following:

oth·er·world·ly - Pronunciation: \ˌə-thər-ˈwərl(d)-lē\
Function: adjective
Date: 1879
1 a: of, relating to, or resembling that of a world other than the actual world b: devoted to preparing for a world to come
2: devoted to intellectual or imaginative pursuits

On a personal level I relate to each of the definitions in one way or another. But I'd also like to add the phrase “things are not always what they appear to be”. I am encouraging you to take some time and take a look around. See your world through a child's eye, through your own imagination and inventiveness. There is much to see that often escapes our attention. Especially as a writer I find it extremely helpful to look at things around me and try to find the hidden little worlds. Nothing inspires more or dispels a writer's block faster then gaining a new perspective on the things that surround us.
