It’s the little things that matter

It’s the little things that matter, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker. Every now and then a commonly used word suddenly stands out in my mind, often for no apparent reason; it just kind of begs for attention and lingers in the forefront until I take a moment to research it further. So it was with

A different perspective

A different perspective, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker. I often find that people spend an awful lot of time “fixing” things, especially other people. We tend to lose our initial fascination with someone and their little quirks and ticks become more evident, sometimes to the point where we’d consider them annoying, unpleasant or even ugly.

A time of reflection

A time of reflection, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker. I am glad it is autumn again and I honestly wouldn’t mind if it lasted a few weeks longer than it usually does. The colors of your heart

The colors of your heart, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker. When the night is the darkest And no light is to be seen When blackness grips the world And everything has lost its sheen Then the moment has arrived for you to shine Like a sparkling beacon of hope and elation Setting the sky on

Fountain of light, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker. Down the street, around the corner, under the bridge, Far beyond the shops and businesses, the busyness, the craziness There is a fountain of light, a fountain of hope. Light drips down in a constant flow of smooth motion Like happy memories streaming through our dreams. Its

Stories unfold

Stories unfold, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker. Stories. The cities are full of them, each one worth to be told, noticed, listened to. They are different and unique, yet compellingly similar in many ways, relatable. They stand on their own, just as their bearers, yet they connect to each other, to one another, to all

One last hooray

One last hooray, originally uploaded by Thorsten Becker. All the summer colors bid farewell With one magnificent last hooray. Emerging one more time from autumn’s red Then they rest comfortably in its bed. There they slumber deeply till next year Awakening in spring time to much cheer. © Thorsten Becker
